I long to help others to uncover within themselves what makes them shine, to find their own distinctive voice, and to broadcast that voice with confidence and skill. On every path I have explored throughout my life, whether personal or professional, I have chosen to help others to radiate their own light into the world. As an educator, I strive to help yoga teachers, business leaders, and entrepreneurs dig deep within themselves to understand why they are pursuing their current journey, and continue to forge their path from that distinct place. As a brand storyteller, I seek to help leaders and entrepreneurs wordsmith nuanced identities, amplifying their messages to be heard above the din. As a yoga instructor, I seek to help others find their true strength, to create a subtle (sometimes radical) revolution within themselves, and to draw upon their own capacity for self-empowerment and self-compassion. I relish my sweet life in Victoria, BC, surrounded by the breathtaking confluence of the sea, the mountains, and the trees. Among my most precious blessings, I count my beloved warrior and catalyst to fire, my extended family near and far, my sweet, silly pups, my cadre of friends I don’t see nearly enough, and my yoga community. I savour every moment I can spend flowing my breath through movement whether on or off the mat: dancing, hiking, cycling, paddling, nourishing those I love, exploring incredible eateries, traveling to intriguing places (whether in the pages of a book or on my own two feet), engaging in both meaningful conversation and conscientious citizenry, designing and decorating beautiful spaces, and getting all dressed up for no reason at all.
Dawn's yoga journey began in 1999 when she bought a Rodney Yee VHS yoga videotape. She made a habit of practicing yoga every day to bring fitness and stress relief to the ups and downs of daily life. After gaining momentum and comfort in her practice, Dawn met her match at a local gym a few years later. Her poses were on public display-meaning for the first time: with hands-on adjustments, cues, and practicing openly in front of others. After conquering this obstacle, she was led to seek out a permanent yoga studio and a place she could use as a hideout to put her restless mind on the back burner for an hour or two.
Lisa Ackerman grew up in a house full of boys in Norwalk, CT and spent her youth between being a tomboy and girly-girl. She hated sports but loved horror movies. Afraid of spiders but loved snakes. Down with Barbie, My Little Pony, and G.I. Joe. She dabbled in dance, gymnastics and music lessons throughout elementary school and in high school dabbled in swimming and even track (hated running). However, nothing stuck. She was brought to her first yoga class at a local gym in her late teens by a friend. The only memory of that class was the savasana and the music-both of which stuck. From that point on, she had an on-again-off-again relationship with yoga until her late 20's when she decided to commit. Her yoga teaching is informed by years of practice and study in nearly every yoga style as well as her interest in anatomy, alignment, different movement modalities, self-inquiry, and exploration. Her ability to anticipate the needs of others, connect with a room, and hold space for all is what makes her style of teaching unique. Her classes are designed to get students to simply connect with themselves. Through breathing practices, movement, meditation and conscious effort, we are all able to master the mind.

Christine LaMonica, M.S., ERYT-500, CSCS I am an experienced yoga teacher and teacher trainer, studio owner and creator of the Art and Science of Yoga workshop series for yoga teachers and serious students. I teach motor learning and control as well as yoga for the Kinesiology Department at California State University, Northridge. I have been active in sports and athletics all my life, even competing in a fitness contest in Florida (I made it to the finals!) but it was always something that I did for fun, until I found yoga. The practice really changed my life. Since I took my first class in 2000 I have been hooked! I have studied with and learned from some of the best yoga teachers around, including Annie Carpenter, Maty Ezraty, Saul David Raye, and Richard Freeman just to name a few. For the past few years (and still) I have been deepening my knowledge of yogic philosophy, studying with Christopher Hareesh Wallis, classic nondual Shaiva Tantra philosophy and its practices. I have been teaching yoga for 12 years and have been leading 200-hour yoga teacher trainings since 2018. I am the creator and facilitator of the Art and Science of Yoga Instructional Workshop Series. Additionally, I am the sole proprietor of Prema Yoga and Prema Yoga Evolution, yoga studios which I opened in 2014 and 2017 respectively. I received my M.S. in Kinesiology, CSUN (May 2012) and did my research thesis on the effects of an eight-week yoga practice on aspects of health and performance related fitness. I presented my research at a yoga conference in Haridwar, India in January, 2013. I have also completed a 500-hour advanced teacher training with Annie Carpenter at Exhale Center for Sacred Movement, Venice, CA in February 2012. Michelle Morris - Bio My journey started in 2011 when I left my corporate job after 10 years. Working in corporate, I was never truly happy or fulfilled and was always thinking there must be something more for me and to life. Originally from Lakewood Colorado, my background is in dance and gymnastics. I continued with adult classes and had injured myself, leaving me with a herniated disc. This injury devastated me for years. I began a yoga practice at home and the pain I had been experiencing disappeared like a miracle. I then thought I would like to venture into being a yoga teacher myself. I loved how I felt each time I practiced, and with the practice contributing to the healing of my injury I wanted to share that with others. In 2013 I received my 200 hr RYT and started teaching yoga at a local gym and a few yoga studios in Central Florida. I then furthered my education and was certified in Yoga for Kids and Yoga for Golfers and then went on to receive my 500 RYT in 2016. Later I also received training in Empower Movement Advanced Teacher Training, Yoga Nidra, Sound Healing and Reiki 1. I additionally became certified as a Mind Mastery Health Coach. In 2018 I purchased Bombay Room Yoga, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. My intent is to help people live their best lives, to help people find peace, healing, love and success for themselves. To inspire, bring forth positive light and energy, add value and make a difference in the lives of others.

Namaste, I’m Natasja! I am a registered revolutionary yoga and meditation teacher, Jyotish astrologer, and spiritual life coach. I was born in The Netherlands. Though my parents were raised Roman Catholic, they openly encouraged spiritual exploration and I was introduced to the philosophies of yoga and meditation from a young age. I found peace through dance, movement, and other creative outlets, so I pursued a formal dance education at Codarts Rotterdam, an internationally-acclaimed school of dance and performing arts. I emigrated to Canada with my family when I was 19 and brought my love of movement to a career in teaching group fitness classes as an award-winning instructor at Goodlife Fitness. Through teaching, I recognized my passion to inspire others to transform their bodies and enjoy more self-confidence, energy, and zest for life. I found myself drawn more and more to the practice of yoga and loved the feelings of balance and clarity that I gained after every class. "True happiness is found only in the relationship you foster with your own heart and the hearts of others." It was the devastating loss of my sister in 2002 that really ignited my journey of self-discovery, self-realization, and self-actualization. Through despair I was able to move into a deep spiritual awakening and I thank my sister for that amazing gift – it lead me to complete my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with well-known yoga teacher; Shiva Rea, and to open Fusionmovement Yoga Studio in the summer of 2009. Through my awakening, I have learned that the physical aspect of yoga is just the doorway – the most significant impact yoga has is on the mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies of a person. The word “yoga” means to unite, to unite our body, mind and spirit. It is my service to humanity to allow each person to come into complete alignment with who they truly are, to allow each person to fill material voids with real purpose and to return to mindful, heart-centred living. To do this, I feel a duty to myself and to my students to continuously learn and evolve my teachings. I completed my training at the school of Kripalu and am now a certified Ayurvedic Health Practitioner. Just last year I spent a month in the Himalayas studying Jyotish Vedic Astrology with master teacher Anand Mehrotra at the Sattva Yoga Academy and I have plans to do more intensive training later this year. Over the years I’ve been lucky to lead several international yoga retreats in Costa Rica. I’ve presented at the International Toronto Yoga Conference and at the World Fitness Expo in Toronto and I’m always honoured to teach at local schools, businesses and community events. MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY: Yoga is for everyone and for every body! I take pride in my ability to teach the same class at multiple levels so that every student feels safe and balanced in mind, body, and spirit. I teach lively, passionate, and dynamic yoga classes and love to interweave little pearls of wisdom to create a little magic. My vinyasa flow classes begin with grounding movement meditation and breathing (pranayama) practices. Each class has a different theme and/or peak pose, and movements are sequenced so that the body and mind are completely prepared to move into the peak pose. During in-person classes, hands-on-enhancements are provided throughout the class so that students can experience a deeper embodiment of the pose. I end with a 10-minute shavasana and/or meditation and I love to leave each student an oracle card to read at the end of their practice. My therapeutic yoga classes are very gentle and restorative in nature. I love to use essential oils and therapeutic touch to create a nourishing experience for each student. The classes incorporate breathing (pranayama) practices, mudras (sacred hand gestures), and/or myofascial release techniques. Music is an important component to all of my classes. To me, music is like adding spice to food, therefore creating a richer and deeper experience of the yoga practice.
